| Lythic Matt User Info... | I picked this one up a couple of weeks ago... A&B was sold out but they had a bunch of free stickers and postcards for it that I suppose some street teamer left there. It's getting awesome reviews from everywhere that's mentionned it... everything says this is Sage's best work. The beats are totally the best he's ever had to work with (Danger Mouse on a track. Yes!) but I don't think he's improved much in the last 4 or 5 years. He's got a lot of material out there already and he is consistently lyrically good... but this isn't the album where he really gets it together and shines, as I was hoping. His lyrics aren't really focused: lots of navel gazing punctuated by outburts at mainstream American culture, the type of thing Sage Francis usually does. If you're unfamiliar with Sage Francis but are into rap that isn't about money & guns, go get this. If you're into Sage's older stuff, go get this (you probably already have it). If you are familiar with his past work but haven't found him to be much of an all-star... he still isn't, and I'm starting to doubt he'll ever get there.
