Seeking Reggae Guitarist

| mactac User Info... | We are currently seeking a replacement guitar player for Arise, our roots reggae band. We posted a message earlier looking for a fill-in for a show - we have the show covered but now need a replacement guitarist. We're a 5 piece (vox, guitar, bass, drums, keyboards) and are currently playing shows. Our plan is to play the festivals and better shows, plus be available as the first-call reggae act in Victoria/Island for openers for the bigger acts when they come to town. There are few (or more likely none) other reggae bands in town, so we feel that this is a reasonable goal. It does mean some slogging it out with free and low paying shows in the meantime to both build an audience and to help the reggae scene in Victoria in general. We currently practice at ProJamSpaces once a week. We play some covers, some originals. The covers include songs by Midnite, Abyssinians, Burning Spear, Prince Far I, etc. We're looking for a reggae guitarist with an incredibly solid sense of rhythm, great tone and above all a great attitude (hey, this is reggae!). We're looking for someone ASAP (our current guitarist leaves Sep 1) as we are currently turning down shows..
