_Griphin_ User Info... | http://www.wired.com/news/wireservice/0,71624-0.html?tw=rss.index "Wired News reports there are a number of artists, ranging from The Beatles to Radiohead, that are still holding out on iTunes. Some feel that per-track downloads hurt the artistic integrity of albums as a whole; for others it's simply a matter of negotiation troubles. From the article: 'Since record companies have realized the popularity of iTunes and other sites, many reworked contracts to give artists less money per download. Andrews said while record companies once offered artists about 30 cents for each song sold, now musicians are earning less than a dime.'" === Had to comment about this portion of the article. "Over the last year or so, we have seen an ever-growing number of Metallica fans using online sites such as iTunes to get their music.... Fire up your iTunes, your iPods and whatever else you've got, like we do, and enjoy iMetallica," the band wrote on its website. Yes, I've been enjoying them in MP3 format for the last 7 years (yes, I bought all the albums.) I even have something Metallica would never think to offer, a copy of Kill 'em All taken from Banzai vinyl!!! That shit rocks!!! - Mon, 21 Aug 2006 11:23am Edited: Mon, 21 Aug 2006 5:35pm
The Wolf User Info... | I dont get paying for MP3's ? A what happens when the Hard Drive on your PC fails...You have to buy all the tunes again?? I prefer CDs ... Lamb of God SACRAMENT tomorrow :> - Mon, 21 Aug 2006 10:00pm
_Griphin_ User Info... | Well... yeah. Once you bought the tune, if it accidently gets nuked you have to re-buy the MP3s. I used to prefer the CD medium, but since I have a computer hooked up to my stereo and no CD player (I gave it to someone, and it still works, Technics equipment ROCKS!!!) it's easier to transfer all my music to MP3 (it's also backed up to DVD, I used to have it on over 600 CDs, now it's on 89 DVDs). - Tue, 22 Aug 2006 10:22am Edited: Tue, 22 Aug 2006 10:23am
Destroy_The_Flesh User Info... | don't forget that mp3 is compressing the signal, loss of quality is noticed in thickly layered songs, cd,sacd, dvd.etc sound night and day compared to mp3's - Fri, 25 Aug 2006 7:14pm
