| sumyungai User Info... | I don't know if anyone but me cares, but it seems that The End has (again) fired DJ No- Name. I've neither heard nor seen any explanation, but it seems that the writing was on the wall ever since No- Name's back surgery at christmas. I have just e-mailed Lazlo and Harms for an explanation, and will share what they have to say if anyone cares. This isn't the first time Bob's been fired from the air, and the last time a listener revolt resulted in his being reinstated. The station has replaced him with a computer run (supposed) listener request show, sans on air personality. Anyone recall the DJ 2000 from 'The Simpsons'? So, once again, I don't know if any of you give a damn, or if you can even receive The End now that that French Station barged in, but if you do let the station know. E-mail Lazlo and Harms and tell them to bring No- Name back, we don't want to hear some soulless computer spitting out song titles. Ciao. - Wed, 12 Mar 2008 6:46pm | ||
| Jeremy Baker User Info... | it was part of cost cutting. the End is getting crushed in Seattle so No Name (plus a long time assistant Programmer) were let go. Harm's was taken off the air and is just the music director now and replaced by a part-timer. the mid-days as you said are automated. My opinion is that the End may be changing format soon... if Carolla and Lazlo fail to gain any traction (both talk shows)... or else the End will remain as a shell and operate as cheaply as possible. The economy in the US is not so good, and the End underperforms dramitcally in a competitive market so these measures are probably a lsast ditch effort to break even and stay on the air as "The End." - Mon, 17 Mar 2008 3:24pm | ||
