I've always wondered about this Musical Group...I have read there 'Bio' on this site. I was the Manager of the Paint Cellar @ the Empress Hotel in Victoria and responsible for the Entertainment along with Albert Van Citters who was the Food and Beverage Manager. About a year ago, a very good former employee of the Empress Hotel and I were reflective of the good ol'days of the Paint Cellar and later the Forge @ the Strathcona Hotel where the Brothers Forbes migrated too after there hugh popularity @ the Paint Cellar. The Paint Cellar could not handle the crowds that the Old Forge could....hence the Brothers moved to their location....I worked @ the Empress Hotel from 1967 to 1970, continued in this hotel business for another 35 years in Eastern Canada. I was born in Victoria, grew up on Vancouver Island and my Mother (bless her heart) still lives (86 years young) in the Comox Valley. I do ocassionally visit Victoria and of course the Empress Hotel, now a Fairmount Hotel, about the great revolutionary late '60's, when music was music with Barry Macguire, Dylan, Stones, Creedence, Beatles, even Leonard Cohen !
I even have thoughts of the ol'Purple Onion and the start at that time of Valdy...
I wonder if Larrie or John are still live, as it would be nice to contact them, even for the nostalgic reasons...those guys could really crank out a great Creedence compilation...night club ROCKED, and it was fabulous time.
Does anyone out there have an e-mail address of either of the Brothers Forbes ?
