remarkably self-reliant singer-songwriter from Denmark, Tina Dico is about to explode on the music scene. In the Red, her third album and international debut, is a stunning showcase for her remarkably inviting voice and delicious songs. Produced by Chris Potter (the Verve’s Urban Hymns), the disc shot up the Danish charts past Coldplay and U2. Mixing modern relationship angst, radiant folk melodies and plenty of soulful blue-eyed singing, In the Red has one foot in the mainstream and another in the alternative camp, and is bound to find a place in the hearts of fans of everyone from Joni Mitchell to Dido to Beth Orton.
Tina self-released her debut album at the age of 23 in Denmark. Her second album Notes won her the Danish Grammy for Best Songwriter and the Danish Music Critics Award for Best Composer. After moving to London she continued to write songs, and hooked up with electronica duo Zero 7. She sang on two tracks on Zero 7’s second album When it Falls and toured the world with the electronic duo. Subsequent tours have seen her support Australian singer/songwriter Ben Lee in the U.K. and now, North America is about to fall under the spell of this bewitching new voice.
