With a gun, yes. But the reason he did it: drug addiction and mental illness. - Wed, 28 Sep 2005 3:15pm

If it was suicide, why didn't he just overdose? - Wed, 28 Sep 2005 3:51pm

it's an easy question to ask, but complicated to answer. Before he shot himself he injected himself with enough heroin to kill him anyway-he would have died from an overdose had he not shot himself. Perhaps the gun was just reassurance. - Wed, 28 Sep 2005 5:58pm

Heroin?!? Well yeah, but who fired off the shotgun?!? And she didn't kill Cobain, someone else did. He did enough Heroin that night to kill 3 people apparently. It's a strange situation. And I'm rather choked that Courtney is allowed to spend Francis's money, her dad made a lot money I don't think his daughter will ever see. - Wed, 28 Sep 2005 6:48pm

it's a tiresome argument Griphin. However, it's worthwhile to note that among the 100's of novels written about kurt cobain and the controvercy surrounding his death, it is only the well known, respect biographers (charles cross for example) who cite his death as intentional.

The others, those idiots who wrote "who killed kurt cobain?" for example, have no credentials, nothing save for useles sinterviews to back them up.

It's funny, the guys who wrote who killed kurt cobain later wrote another novel about the same subject, only they altered the name. Clearly, they were in it for the money: a rockstars death, intentional or otherwise, always sells well. - Wed, 28 Sep 2005 7:45pm

Oh?!? Funny, I have both books (Who Killed Kurt Cobain and Heavier Then Heaven) and I enjoyed both books. Then again, I've got the magazine "Uncut presents Nirvana" (which is just repeats of NME articles) as well. But I don't have his Journals book (I refuse to buy that), and there's a few other re-hash Cobain biographies I refuse to buy. BTW: I'm still looking for a copy of when the band played the Forge. Someone mentioned here they had a copy, but it's very doubtful they have it. - Wed, 28 Sep 2005 10:02pm

Well in the context of those who write books on musicians, it's important to check the authors credentials. Crazy broke fans don't write objectively-they can't. Why won't you buy the journals? If you did, and flipped through them you would see that Cobain was really pretty mentally and physically ill. He mentions suicide dozens of times and wanted to name one of the albums "I hate myself and i want to die" ect ect. Anyway, to each his own. I just don't get why people won't accept the nature of his death - Wed, 28 Sep 2005 10:22pm

Why don't I buy the journals? Because I'm not a "need everything" fan. Just because someone mentions they want to commit suicide doesn't mean that they will commit suicide. - Thu, 29 Sep 2005 10:28am

I assumed you didn't buy them as you thought it was "wrong" they were published. One of those fans. - Thu, 29 Sep 2005 12:24pm

Well at first, that's why I din't buy the journals. Then I saw the price and well, I can use that money for better reasons, like eating. - Thu, 29 Sep 2005 3:34pm

Well I read the Journals book and before I read it I thought maybe he was murdered but after I read the book I realized He quite obviously commited suicide! He was in a lot of pain both physically and emotionally. I highly recommend it. Especially for you Griph it may open your eyes a bit. Maybe you could get it from the library or something. - Thu, 29 Sep 2005 5:46pm

Actually I'll wait for the .PDF. :) I don't know if he actually killed himself because when he was in Europe, apparently he tried to off himself there. ("Kurt Cobain has survived a very close brush with death after overdosing on alcohol and drugs in a Rome hotel" as reported by Melody Maker, March 12 :), 1994., and I heard that Courtney tried to kill him then, albeit she was unsuccessful.) I really don't know if he was taken out or his did himself in, but to me it's interesting to think of it as a murder. - Thu, 29 Sep 2005 7:39pm

of course it's interesting to think of it as murder: then you don't have to face the fact that your idol shot himself in the head because he was mentally ill. - Thu, 29 Sep 2005 8:21pm

Noone really knows how Cobain was killed, or if he killed himself, so give it up! If Cobain killed himself, then how come his Credit card was still in use after the death? - Thu, 29 Sep 2005 11:37pm

Blahdy blahdy blah. Y'all can talk until you're blue in the face but the fact remains... Only Cobain can say how he died. He's not here to tell the tale, obviously, so it's all conjecture and speculation. - Fri, 30 Sep 2005 2:45pm

I find it very odd that the topic of how rock stars died continues to generate this much discussion. Its like its more interesting than their actual lives and work, which kinda sucks. - Fri, 30 Sep 2005 3:01pm

I don't know, I know Courtney tried to hire El Duce to kill Cobain, he said no, then the last person to see him was Kill Allan Wrench before El Duce was hit by a train. It's just a strangely bizarre case.
