Urbain Grandier User Info... | New Blut Aus Nord album!!! French icy industrial black metal magicians depart from their modern dissonant sound (2001 - 2007, 4 albums) and return to their old form with a epic follow up to 1996's icy melodic "black" metal masterpeice "Memoria Vetusta I - Fathers of the Icy Age" This album picks up where #1 left off with similar raw production, killer riffs, epic harmonized lead guitars galore, and a cold sorrowful atmosphere... ...but adds more epic song length, with the average 9min song(if you read: 9min=boring, you are wrong in this album), tons of harmonization with gutiars all over the place (at least 3 guitars going when vocals are present, 5 when no vocals), well executed chill clean guitar sections, and infusing lots of interesting rythems take from their modern albums ("the works which transform god" specifically) into this, their older sound. The drum machine is only noticable with the hi-hat, as it is as usual, very well done. Blut aus nord is one of only two bands with drum machines i'll ever listen to. 9/10, only to give room for improvement in the production. I'd have to say this shits all over 99% of "foresty" "pagany" whatever the fuck you want to call it black metal, and thats with a drum machine.... - Wed, 6 May 2009 6:07pm | ||
