| PAMA User Info... | Guitar Fingerstyle Essentials Saturday, February 27th 2010 11am-4pm with Paul Mowbray A focused look at the main finger picking styles used to play popular music: arpeggio style, alternate bass (Travis), chord melody, and "Ma Carter". We will also look at some of the percussive techniques of modern players. -you get a 20 page set of exercises which leads you through the essentials of each style. -you get tabs with recorded examples (played slowly) of songs that illustrate the styles. These include: Landslide, Such Great Heights, Stairway to Heaven (beginning section), Blackbird, Fishing Blues,I Will Follow You Into the Dark, Blowin in the Wind, and more. -this workshop is for the beginning or intermediate guitar player who wants an overview of fingerstyle techniques with lots of examples and exercises. It is also for the expert player and writer who wants to focus on and understand the essentials of fingerstyle. Location: Peninsula Academy of Music, Sidney BC.
