Message Board > Gear Buy & Sell > Fender Prosonic Head and Sunn Beta 212 |
:: sean r thomas :: User Info... | I've got a Fender Prosonic Head and a Sunn Beta 212 cabinet for sale. I'm upgrading my amp (to a vintage Marshall) and need to sell off some stuff to pay for it. I've owned both items for 3 years and have gone out of my way to take good care of them. The head: This is a Fender Prosonic Head, not the combo and therefore, it has no reverb; otherwise, the amps are exactly the same. I've recently re-tubed it with 4 new 12AX7's and 2 new 6L6GC's. It is due for a new rectifer tube (GZ34) in the next year or so which should cost about 30 bucks. The tone of the amp runs the gamut from the Fender Black-face blues tone all the way to MESA and boutique high-gain metal tones. The tolex and the grille cloth are both in good condition with no rips or tears. I am the second owner of this amp and it was originally bought from Long and McQuade here in Victoria. It has been used solely for recording and practicing in the 3 years I have owned it. Specs: -60 watts all-tube -3-way selectable rectifier (Class A tube, Class AB tube, Class AB Solid-State) -2 channels (foot-switchable) -cascading gain (Gain 1 and Gain 2) -the EQ is shared between both channels as is the Master Volume -4-, 8- or 16-ohm impedence selector -effects loop The cab: This is a Sunn Beta 212 cabinet from the late 70's or early 80's. It is my understanding that this cab was part of a line that was meant to be used with Sunn's full line of Beta amps including their bass and keyboard amps. The cones and voicecoils are in excellent condition. I have never taken the cab apart to find out the brand of the speakers but given the age, they are probably older Eminence or Peavey drivers. The grille cloth was replaced by the previous owner and the badge was removed. The Tolex and grill cloth are both in excellent conditions (no tears). I've used this cab with a couple of different heads and it sounds great with everything I've used (the Prosonic, a 70's Marshall JMP, an older Traynor solid-state head and a JCM 800). This cab has an interesting patch panel that allows you to patch this cab in series or in parallel with another cab. I'm not sure of the power handling of this cab off-hand but the heads that it was meant to be mated to were in the 60- to 150-watt range. Prices: Head - $750 Cab - $250 Offers? Interesting trades? You can call me at 385-2718 any time before 8:00 PM or email me at [email protected] I've also got a stock bridge pickup out of a 1999 American Fender Telecaster. Any offers? - Thu, 13 Nov 2003 10:40pm | ||
