Lucius User Info... | what kind of model head? How old? When were the tubes replaced? Pics? - Tue, 8 Feb 2005 8:01am
Mik User Info... | I'm interested in the cab, but I think that you're asking way too much for it. Let me know if you decide to lower your price. I just bought a Behringer 4x12 cab on here for $150. They sell for less than $450 new. - Tue, 8 Feb 2005 8:57am
hijakt User Info... | Why do people insist on bitching about the asking price of a particular item? If you're a serious buyer, make the seller an offer of what you think is fair and negotiate a deal. - Tue, 8 Feb 2005 10:33am
cooper User Info... | hijakt - people are allowed to ask whatever price they want, and if someone wants to pay $450 for the cab, then I'm not going to stop them. But a seller has to know the market a bit before putting an asking price on something. If people charged whatever they wanted for gear, nobody would be able to afford anything and nothing would sell. I don't like getting ripped off as much as the next guy. - Tue, 8 Feb 2005 11:16am
SublimeKid User Info... | Good thing he's not forcing you to buy it eh? Otherwise you'd be in a WORLD of shit.. - Tue, 8 Feb 2005 11:46am
Sly Firebone User Info... | ok ok ok, lets slow this ho train down a little. i paid 450 for the cab new.its only played 3 shows. ive only had it for few months and have decided to downsize a little due to lack of space in the van and the ammount of travelling ahead. im asking 450 for it cuz im willing to take offers. now if i only ask 350 for it, someone is still gonna bitch about the price. so i might as well try to get close to what i paid for it.if you can go somewhere else for cheaper, go ahead.if you wanna help support a local musician and strugglin band, call me. and MIK, as for grabbin that other cab for 150 bones, way to go! great fuckin deal, but dont expect everyone to sell their gear at blowout prices. im lookin to sell so i can afford to get something different, not so i can afford my crack problem. - Tue, 8 Feb 2005 9:32pm
hijakt User Info... | Cooper: nobody says you have to pay the asking price. I rarely do. Something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. If some somebody out there is happy to pay $450 for the cab, good on them. We all know there's a sucker born every minute. Sly: the cold hard truth is that not unlike buying a new car and driving it off the lot, your cabs value will have depreciated substantially. The downside with buying used equipment from a private seller is that the item rarely comes with a garantee. The upside is that one can save a bundle due to value depreciation and no sales tax. - Wed, 9 Feb 2005 10:51am
Lucius User Info... | Sly, i don't think the charity thing will fly here man. Ask what you want for your gear but don't put it on us to buy your gear just because you're local. This thread has essentially been hijacked so if you wanna get back to dealing I'll ask my original question that you haven't answered. What model head is it? age, tubes age, pics. - Wed, 9 Feb 2005 3:41pm
Sly Firebone User Info... | alright, the laney head is from the mid to late 80's. its a PRO TUBE LEAD 50. i just had the power tubes replaced yesterday and got it all tuned up. dont have a pic. - Wed, 9 Feb 2005 8:48pm
