Lordpatch User Info... | Community Forum At Aaron Dixon for U.S. Senate Headquarters 2111 E Union St, Seattle, WA Tuesday, September 19th 7:00pm Featuring: Elaine Brown was elected Chairwoman of the Black Panther Party in 1974. Today, as an activist, writer, and speaker, Brown upholds the original vision of the Panthers and the survival programs they developed: free breakfast programs for children, sickle cell anemia testing, free health clinics and senior services, among others. Aaron Dixon is the Green Party candidate for U.S. Senate and is the progressive antiwar choice for 2006. Dixon has been a life-long activist in the struggle for justice. By age 21, Aaron founded the Black Student Unions at Garfield H.S. and the Univ. of Washiington, and was appointed to head the Black Panther Party's Seattle chapter. Since the BPP, Dixon founded Central House, a nonprofit that serves Seattle's at-risk youth. On Sept. 19th the Democratic and Republican parties will select their pro-war, pro-corporate candidates for U.S. Senate, Maria Cantwell and Mike McGavick. The war in Iraq has claimed over 100,000 Iraqi lives, 2,600 U.S. soldiers, and is costing billions of dollars that could be spent on crucial social programs. We can no longer afford to support a party that has proven its loyalty to its corporate sponsors and betrayed our communties. This year we have a vital decision to make: vote for Maria Cantwell who supports the War on Iraq, or vote for Aaron Dixon and his message of "Out of War…and Into Our Communities." We invite you to a lively forum with Elaine Brown and Aaron Dixon to discuss the next steps in the battle against war, racism, and the two party system that maintains the status quo. http://www.dixon4senate.com 206-219-5178 [email protected] - Wed, 13 Sep 2006 2:00pm | ||
Lordpatch User Info... | http://voxunion.com/realaudio/coupradio/FM6.mp3 "...We fight and we die, but that's not the point, although it may be admirable from some sort of purely moral point of view. The point is, however, in the face of what we confront, to fight and win. That's the real objective: not just to make statements, no matter how noble, but to destroy the system that oppresses us. By any means available to us. And to do this, we must be connected, in contact and communication with those in the struggle on the outside. We must be mutually supporting because we're all in this together. It's one struggle at base....The guerrilla fights to win. The guerrilla fights the same kind of fight we do, what's sometimes called a "poor man's war." It's not a form of war fought with high tech weaponry, or state-of-the-art gadgets. It's fought with whatever can be had-captured weapons when they can be had, but often antiquated firearms, homemade ordnance, knives, bows and arrows, even slingshots-but mostly through the sheer will of the guerrilla to fight and win, no matter what...." -- George Jackson http://historyisaweapon.com/defcon1/jacksoninterview.html VOXUNION MEDIA September 2006 http://voxunion.com/realaudio/coupradio/FM6.mp3 VOXUNION MEDIA September 2006 FreeMix Radio: The Original Mixtape Radio Show FM6 Special Black August: George Jackson Tribute CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD http://voxunion.com/realaudio/coupradio/FM6.mp3 and visit http://voxunion.com/ for more plus the web stream version This edition is dedicated to the memory of George Jackson.
