_Griphin_ User Info... | http://www.punkmagazine.com/morestuff/johnny_ramone.html I'm still annoyed about this, he died 6 days after I was admitted to hospital. Jeez, not something to hear about once you fully wake up from an assault. - Sat, 7 May 2005 8:41am
Lordpatch User Info... | ya it was sad but the end was not good. he became a rightwing, reagan supporting westcoast eltist racist. and all that about being a rightwing republican and a punk doesn't matter? BS, dude, it does. it realy does. you don't have to be tattooed fake ass anarahcist or wera shredded jeans but you don't switch to the ted nugent school of rock n roll rightwing boneheadology either. now i do miss dee dee and joey. they were true to the end - Wed, 8 Jun 2005 7:51pm
[+} User Info... | "now i do miss dee dee and joey. they were true to the end" i'd disagree. johnny seemed like the ultimate right supporter. that's why joey and johnny never got along. - Thu, 9 Jun 2005 7:27pm
_Griphin_ User Info... | Joey never got along with people in the band because he suffered with obsessive compulsive disorder. At least, according to End of the Century. - Fri, 10 Jun 2005 11:57am
Lordpatch User Info... | then he should have gotten along with phil "over production" spectre. the big deal about "end of the century" was that it was a ramones lp that had songs that went over 2mins. i prefered the original version of "rock n roll highschool" than the spectre version. i can't say that i hate the record -- with all the pop and punk and beach party tongue in cheek of the ramones i'll say that spectre did add a tragic tone to this lp and brought the fam back to the urban landscape and away form the dream of beach parties and leather jackets. i guess spectre was use to it having come from a teen tin pan alley recording house writing new york street rock n roll soul tunes in an enviroment of tragedy. so this merger of born and bred new york aging kids trapped in a teen vaccum of the emerging treachous 80's never allows you to leave the reality of the o.ds, the suicides and oncoming calamity of the era of greed, electro-pop, crack and cowboys. but, ya i 'do remember rock n roll radio'. - Fri, 10 Jun 2005 12:50pm
_Griphin_ User Info... | I dunno about Phil Specter, as was mentioned in "End of the Century", they didn't like to work with him. I should re-watch the DVD and try to figrue out what was said (my memory is screwed). - Sun, 12 Jun 2005 3:37pm
Lordpatch User Info... | did anybody really ever like working with phil spectre? i remember ronnie spector doing that great back up to eddie money's "take me home tonight" an aside - Sun, 12 Jun 2005 6:28pm
