BBJones User Info... | Hey all, looking for recommendations on drum writing/recording software. This is for digital creation only, no acoustic recording. Just seeing what people may recommend. Looking to write authentic drum tracks for additional overdubbing/recording (which will include more midi/synth/live recording). I've used things like Sonar/cakewalk/guitarpro and can write drum parts there, but ain't too fond of those programs (although I'll likely be using them for most of the recording process). I'm a drummer so would prefer to be able to write in a staff format. Thanks in advance - Mon, 30 Oct 2006 3:54pm

lonemonk User Info... | Its not staff-written, but FruityLoops is a good and easy drum sequencer. Also has some cool Synth seq stuff in it as well. Because you can change all the patches, you decide how it sounds. I have had success recording my own kit to put into FL as well, which is fun. My buddy Paul was the creator of a bunch of samples for a program called BeatCraft. Its similar to FruityLoops, but doesn't currently have all the whistles. Or, if you are totally into Staff stuff get a program like Finale (Notation), and also get a drum-sample playback program like BFD and you can write on the staff and send your output to BFD to playback. This option will cost more than the first though. - Tue, 31 Oct 2006 10:53am
