The Notes From Underground
since circa 1998
In the past few years, Geoff Thompson (guitar, vocals), Shawn Mrazek (drums, vocals), and Johnny Uljevic (bass, vocals) have rocked Vancouver's music scene. Their band, The Notes From Underground, plays guitar rock that has been compared to the Velvet Underground and Crazy Horse. After years of heartaches and headaches The Notes released their self-titled on Stutter Records in August 2002. It stayed at number one for the month of October on Vancouver's foremost indie rock radio station CITR. Since their inception The Notes From Underground have played with bands like The Kills, The Fiery Furnaces, Ted Leo and The Pharmacists, Hot Hot Heat, Kinski, The Warlocks, and Enon to name a few. Currently The Notes are recording their second album at Mushroom Studios in Vancouver, BC, and is set to be released in the winter of 2005.
