UVic Jazz Ensemble
The UVic Jazz Ensemble, directed by Patrick Boyle, performs some of the best-known works from the jazz repertoire alongside hidden gems and original arrangements. Their adventurous concerts have featured live improvised soundtracks to classic silent films, including "Battleship Potemkin" (1925), Buster Keaton's "The General" (1926) and Charlie Chaplin's
The Kid" (1921). Past concerts have paid tribute to the Bluenote era, Dizzy Gillespie and Thelonious Monk.
