Sunlikestar
New band name "Art of Dying"
From its inception in early 1997 SunLikeStar has looked to forge a musical style both high-powered and captivating. The group's debut album, "Inverse" does just that, combining a wall of guitar-driven rock with the contemporary flavors of electronica.
Recorded and mixed by Mike Plotnikoff (Cranberries, INXS), with Phil Western (Nine Inch Nails, Download) co-producing the album's electronic sound scape, Inverse manages to stand on its own as a potent and innovative first endeavor.
The first single Day Survive is getting national recognition from radio. The sound is reminiscent of othermodern rock radio heavyweights: A Perfect Circle, Filter and Incubus.
Pre-production for a video for Day Survive is currently underway. The video will showcase the group's explosive live show, which fuses stadium-sized sound and strong visual elements.
John Lucas of the Georgia Straight says: "The quartet's blend of electronic pop and melodic heavy rock is a highly polished one and it comes across brilliantly in a live setting."
