Sillan & Young

Often compared to contemporary jazz-folk acts such as Ani DiFranco and Tracy Chapman, the acoustic quartet Sillan & Young effortlessly connect with audiences thanks to their relevant lyrics and virtuosic musical skills. Swedish-born Johanna Sillan’paa is the vocalist/songwriter whose melancholy themes and sultry voice interweave wonderfully with the supple guitar of Aaron Young, who developed his confidence and technique during a five-year world tour with the Barrage stage show. Anchoring the group are bassist Kodi Hutchinson and drummer Rob Vulic, jazz veterans who have played with luminaries such as Hugh Fraser and Ingrid Jensen.
