UViSO opens its concert season on the eve before Halloween with a journey from darkness into light. Between F major and F minor lies a whole universe: Beethoven's exuberance meets Chopin's tenderness, with Brahms striking the first, intensely lyrical spark. The program will include Brahms's Tragic Overture, Beethoven's Eighth Symphony, and Chopin's Second Piano Concerto with soloist Madison Brecht, winner of the 2026 UVic Concerto Competition.

Brahms: Tragic Overture. Op. 81
Beethoven: Symphony No. 8 in F major, Op. 93
Chopin: Piano Concerto No. 2 in F minor, Op. 21
