Creating Climate Resilience Fall Art Workshop Series

Event Description

Are you a young person (18 - 30) concerned about climate change? Are you seeking a community in which to express these thoughts and feelings?
Join Creating Climate Resilience for a free Thursday evening workshop series utilizing artmaking and dialogue to explore your thoughts and feelings about climate change in a supportive space. Creating Climate Resilience is a community initiative aiming to cultivate people's emotional resilience to climate impacts through relationship building, knowledge mobilization and art workshops.

As we head into darker months and the end of the year, we offer an opportunity to explore seasonality, your hopes and fears for the coming year and how you want to nourish yourself amid the demands of everyday life. Over this series of three art workshops the facilitators will support participants in delving into themes such as how climate change feels in our bodies, the importance of rest and care amid the urgency of the crisis, and our relationships to marine and terrestrial environments.

This is a safe space to create 'bad art' to process your climate emotions. No prior artmaking experience or expertise about climate change is required. Snacks and supplies provided!
