Event Description

BRASS CAMEL:
Vancouver's Brass Camel is a band that defies labels by fusing deep-pocket funk, face-melting prog, and massive-harmony art rock. Since releasing their debut album Brass in 2022 they’ve played over 200 concerts, including five national Canadian headlining tours and stages like Vancouver’s Commodore Ballroom, Vogue Theatre, and Toronto's historic Longboat Hall. Their musicianship and work ethic have earned endorsements from Sabian, Rotosound UK, Pro Mark Drumsticks and Evans Drumheads. In 2024, their cover of Sabrina Carpenter’s Please Please Please for Musora’s Covers Challenge has drawn over 750,000 views and counting. Their sophomore album Camel (spring 2025) brought international press, reaction videos, and steady LP sales. While touring in support of this album, the band recorded their third LP at Uxbridge's pastoral Chalet Studio - mixed by the legendary Terry Brown (Rush, Hendrix, The Who, Blue Rodeo), their April 2026 release marks a bold leap in songwriting, distilling Brass Camel’s road-forged sound into something entirely their own. It has brought Brass Camel coverage in premiere publications such as Classic Rock Magazine, PROG Magazine, This Is Rock (Spain), Rock Hard (France) and more. June 2026 brought the band outside of Canada for the first time, touring in the USA with fellow shredders High Fade (Scotland) and with a European tour planned for fall 2026, Brass Camel doesn't plan on slowing down anytime soon.
"Their self-titled third album masters the delicate balance of hero worship
and fresh originality, gleefully refusing to stand in one place as each member
puts their stamp on its strutting compositions. It's a reminder that, above all else,
rock'n'roll is meant to entertain." - Classic Rock Magazine
"Brass Camel is the best band in Canada - mind blowing. Their live show is truly unbelievable."
-Hal Jacques (CHOM DJ - Montreal)
"A natural, heartfelt and funk-flecked amalgamation of Rush, Queen and Led
Zeppelin tied together with signature sass and tasteful virtuosity" - PROG Magazine

“This is a band that embraces musicianship and the spectacle of a live show, at the highest level.
They are on a fast trajectory to being one of the great Canadian rock and roll bands.”
- Ben Kaplan (Producer/engineer/mixer, Mother Mother, Rise Against, Shakira, etc)
“Brass Camel…man, they’re good worldwide!” - Gordie Johnson (Big Sugar)

“They’re like a funky RUSH” - Fantastic Negrito (3X Grammy winner)

“The mad scientists of modern rock.” - Jesse Roper

“I have seen the future of prog rock and it is Brass Camel.” - Kevin Comeau (Crown Lands)

“Brass Camel is gonna save rock and roll.” - Clayton Bellamy (Road Hammers)

“Top notch across the board.” - Tayo Branston (Five Alarm Funk)

CHOPPING SPREE!
A post-fusion band that thrives in the high energy live scene of Vancouver. Chopping Spree blends genres at will, making every show a sight to see with their wild, intensely fun stage presence and captivating instrumental interplay. Taking influence from the likes of King Gizzard, Casiopea, Soil & "PIMP" Sessions, and everything in between, their songs have delved into genres of jazz, 70s Japanese fusion, old school prog rock, heavy metal, psychedelia, funk/disco, post-rock/ambient and even rap. This unique experimental style creates a soundscape of hypnotic proportions while rooting their tendencies of musical bipolarity in a jazz fusion core.
Crossing paths at the University of British Columbia, the group merged together in the summer of 2024 and quickly made their rounds throughout Vancouver's local music scene. The group soon composed enough material for a full album, recorded live at Hubcast Studios in just 4 days, and released their debut album 'Anemoia'.
Over the past year, Chopping Spree has been amassing a dedicated fanbase in Vancouver from the jazz and punk scenes alike, ensuring that every show can be enjoyed either from the always present moshpit at the front, or from the back with eyes glued to the stage. It's a party every time, reflected through their energetic performance and technicality, each show will leave you waiting for the next one.
