THE MANVILS - This talented quartet delivers an intense, unrivalled live show with scorching guitars and bellowing vocals that merge into a modern take on the psychedelic blues sound pioneered by The Yardbirds, Velvet Underground and the Stones. Having shared the stage with prestigious bands including The Stereophonics, The High Dials, They Might Be Giants and Brian Jonestown Massacre's lunatic frontman Anton Newcombe, The Manvils enthusiastically abandon themselves to intoxicating rock liberation, converting new initiates to their ever-growing legion of fans every time they take the stage.
MONGOOSE - 4 hard working lads from East Van whose punk attitude and sonic assault of contagious and raucous garage punk rock has had them hailed as "the best live band in Vancouver!" (Nerve Magazine) and "In-freakin-sane Hives inspired alt-metal!" (Exclaim!). With their ability to write catchy songs, Mongoose has licenced songs to TV, snowboarding and mountain bike videos and movies, played over 180 shows, shared stages with Tricky Woo, Hedley, C'mon, The Furios, Billy and the Lost Boys, Faber and many more, while racking up over 84,782 km in a minivan called the EGG since late 2003!
The SMEARS combining elements of old and new school punk and rock with the addition of undeniably beautiful melodies, one of Vancouver's favorite punk bands garners new fans at every show with their unique intense music flooded with passion and emotion.
HOT LITTLE ROCKET fuses abrasive post-punk frenzy with melodic instrumentation and inventive arrangements into intricate, off-kilter pop music. Their debut CD "Danish Documentary" peaked at #17 on national college radio, capturing the #40 spot on !Earshot’s annual top 200, and their follow-up "Our Work and Why We Do It" was released nationally on September 6th. Hot Little Rocket have achieved an impressive list of accomplishments including coast to coast touring, features and live performances on MuchMusic and CBC, and shows with Hot Hot Heat, Modest Mouse and the Eric's Trip farewell tour.
