The University of Victoria Cuban Salsa Club will be joining us to enliven our massive dancing area. This club is for those who would like to learn and dance a partner dance called Cuban Salsa. It is known as Casino in Cuba. When we meet we teach Cuban Salsa in a circle where we exchange partners with every new move! It is called Rueda de Casino. Everyone at ArtisTREE is welcome to join!
The UVic Cuban Salsa Club will join ArtisTREE Festival to engage everyone to Rueda along to the Miguelito Valdes Trio!
The Miguelito Valdés Trio brings Cuba to the West Coast with infectious son, salsa, and Latin jazz. Led by acclaimed Cuban trumpeter and vocalist Miguelito Valdés, the Victoria-based trio delivers joyful, high-energy performances that invite audiences of all ages to dance, celebrate, and connect through the universal language of music.
Rueda de Casino originated in Cuba and it is now danced worldwide. It's fun, fast, and upbeat!
Open to everyone, The UVic Cuban Salsa Club meets almost every Wednesday night from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in Vertigo Pub. No partner required, and best of all the lessons are FREE!
This club is open for all levels of expertise (beginners, intermediate, advanced), so come try it out!
