Event Description
You’re invited to a Garden Party! On Sunday, July 13 from 1 to 4, open the gate into a charming Victorian garden and step into a unique piece of local history.
At Ross Bay Villa Historic House Museum, the work of volunteers brings an 1865 historic family home back to life. Come experience a Victorian garden party! Enjoy a cup of tea and a piece of traditional pound cake while listening to award winning fiddlers on the lawn. Stroll past heritage ornamental and vegetable gardens, and try your hand at a Victorian lawn game. Tour the beautifully restored interior of one of the oldest houses in Victoria, from the bright and airy drawing room to the cozy children’s bedroom. Take in the intricate details of handmade wallpaper, imagine having tea with the Roscoe family, and journey back to the days of early Victoria.
Entrance to the grounds is free. House tours by donation. $7.50 for tea and cake.
Donations to the Ross Bay Villa Society will be gratefully accepted. All funds raised during this event go to the conservation, restoration and maintenance of the Ross Bay Villa Historic House Museum.
