Event Description
The intensive, week-long Summer Jazz Workshop culminates in this exciting concert featuring faculty performers. The featured artists have performed with the cream of the jazz world, including such notables as Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington, Dizzie Gillespie, Oscar Peterson, Maynard Ferguson, Slide Hampton and Holly Cole.
The performers include returning faculty of the Victoria Conservatory of Music Summer Jazz Workshop: Rob Cheramy, Don Clark, Gord Clements, Eric Emde, Hugh Fraser, Roy Reynolds, Lou Williamson, and James Young. Joining them will be new faculty members Neil Swainson (one of the best bass players in the world); New York-based pianist and drummer Misha Piatigorsky; gold-medal winning ensemble coach Dave Flello; and well- known Vancouver jazz violinist and trumpeter Blaine Dunaway.
