Nearing her 80th birthday, and described as the greatest blues singer since Bessie Smith, Alberta Adams has sung with the likes of Duke Ellington, T-Bone Walker and Big Joe Turner. Her repertoire includes a heady mix of jump blues, New Orleans' R & B, jazz standards and slow blues.
