Event Description
forms of isolation is a collection of paintings and handmade items created in isolation during a global pandemic by renee leighann.
This series of painted works are a collection of acrylic on canvas and wood panels, some with felt detailing that give the pieces a slightly three dimensional, textured quality. The felt details draw from past work that focussed on wool and fibre, including weavings, needle felting and embroidered pieces. The images are made up of typically colourful forms framed by negative space, so that the forms themselves are isolated on the canvas.
The exhibition will also show some handmade pieces created to reflect some of the images and expressions of the paintings in sculptural form.
There will not be an opening reception for the exhibition, but the artist will be sitting the gallery throughout the duration of the show (schedule TBA please visit thefiftyfifty.net for further info).
