Never afraid to push the boundaries of her comfort zone, AWood has forged a path in the Vancouver DJ scene and has made a name for herself in the queer community DJing house, tech-house and techno.
AWood is a resident of the DJ group FemmeFatale, hosted the livestream show “Waist Deep” on Public Address featuring local queer and female artists and is co-founder of the queer collective HousewerQ who throw underground parties around Vancouver. Her infectious selections, seamless transitions and ability to bring her audience to life through music make Awood a multifaceted and versatile artist.

Formally known as one half of twin duo ‘Armistice’, ‘GISSALA’ is also embarking her solo image with a fresh tech/deep house sound. She is a staple in the Vancouver LGBTQ community, making appearances at countless queer parties all over the city including Vancouver Pride and adding HousewerQ to her growing list, a house inspired night she’s also co-founded.

ACCESSIBILITY
The Copper Owl is located up one flight of stairs and there is no elevator available. There are 2 gender neutral washrooms on the lower level. The venue itself has several levels and stairs, the floors are carpeted except for the dancefloor. There is seating available. Lighting during the event will be low, and there will be flashing stage lights. Please contact us directly to discuss any accessibility concerns or with any other questions.
Harm reduction / naloxone kits will be available during the event.
