They say that ‘Home is where the Heart is.’ Well, for Barb DeRousie, both Mexico and Canada are home BUT for different reasons.
In the winter, Barb bids farewell to our cooler west coast temperatures and heads to a quaint Mexican beach town for sun, surf, and friends. For her this feels like COMING HOME - it’s a place of relaxation and beauty, conducive to creativity. It is also an opportunity to reflect upon the beauty of the west coast where she grew up, but once spring beckons, Barb always appreciates COMING HOME, back to the west coast.
It all started when a friend urged her to take a few watercolour classes back in 2012. She was hooked from the start. Since then, Barb has participated in a number of shows, as well as painting several commissioned pieces.
Coming Home-Pacific Coast Watercolour is Barb’s first-ever solo art show. This exhibition of watercolour paintings depicts images of the Pacific coasts of both Canada and Mexico.
