The Essence: Cooper

Event Description

The Essence is a video work which will be projected on to the front of Emily Carr House. Ottawa artist Cooper (he goes by one name) was inspired by the work of Emily Carr to create an East/ West collaboration with the artist - creating a video that includes images of Eastern flowers, trees and rivers with the sounds of nature.

Cooper is an experimental filmmaker who explores the idea of alternative cinema experiences by creating a number of unique and new ways of viewing film, including projecting films in unusual locations with the aid of portable bicycle powered and hand-cranked film projectors. Wilson is a founding member of the Ottawa filmmakers group, The Windows Collective.
