Folk-swing-soulsters the Monica Lee Band and dank troubadour Geoff Berner in an East Van music showcase at historic Anza Club in a benefit for COPE.
In 2017, housing activity Jean Swanson started a political revolution with calls for a rent freeze and a mansion tax. The insurgency continues in 2018 with a team united under the COPE banner to Win the City We Need.
What could be better than a political revolution? Thirty three and a third revolutions per minute, with musicians united in a benefit for COPE and East Van soul. Sliding scale, accessible venue.
The Monica Lee Band includes Lee’s acoustic piano, Jesse Waldman’s eclectic guitar, and "carefully measured drums from Marc L’Espérance" (The Georgia Straight).
"A staple of East Van’s music community, Monica Lee Band is like a good bottle of red — just don’t drop it before you get a taste." - LiveVan.com

Dank troubadour and "Vancouver bad boy" Geoff Berner keeps it light enough to travel with a special set of satiric accordion-driven tunes that take on Canadian icons, politics, colonialism and condos.
“Cherish him, cherish him, for there really is no one like him. Fantastic.” — Billy Bragg
