Pacific Peoples’ Partnership is proud to host our 11th annual One Wave Gathering , an international Indigenous arts and culture celebration on Lekwungen territory. This year we are presenting a wave of events from September 1 - 15th.
The opening ceremony will take place September 1st at 4pm within MediaNet’s new Flux Gallery, featuring our digital media installation: The Longhouse Legacy Exhibition An impressionistic digital collage projected in the shape of a cedar house front will dance on the walls, and pay tribute to last year’s incredible anniversary event that featured the historic installation of four Longhouses on the lawn of the Legislature. On opening night we will also welcome representatives of Vaka Taumako, to premiere their Polynesian wayfinding documentary We, the Voyagers. Following the screening will be a discussion of the project with group representatives. The gallery will run a variety of North and South Pacific documentary screenings, and feature the Longhouse Legacy exhibition from 12:00pm-5:00pm, Tuesday-Saturday, until September 15th.
Formerly known as One Wave Festival, One Wave Gathering celebrates international Pacific community, arts and culture. It is a gathering of many communities from the North and South Pacific who, guided by their unique customs, protocols and histories, are coming together in the spirit of navigating our shared waters. It is a vision articulated together by many voices with the consent of hereditary and elected leaders, elders, youth, artists and community members.
Pacific Peoples’ Partnership is Canada’s only non-profit organization dedicated to the South Pacific. For over forty years, Pacific Peoples’ Partnership has acted in solidarity with peoples of the North and South Pacific to promote their aspirations for peace, justice, health, and environmental sustainability.

For physical events that happen at a specific time. For example a concert, or dance performance. If there are multiple shows, you can still duplicate your event to cover them all.
