Nicholas Vanderguten

Event Description

In this multimedia installation, a filmed performance of on-the-clock labour by artist Nicholas Vandergugten is paired respectively with music by local folk artist Cosy Father, and autobiographical monologue by German Ocampo Salazar. Visitors experience a unique iteration through non-harmonized audio and video components that replace fixed narrative readings with synchronistic occurrences. Evoking the transformative potential of both physical and emotional work, this installation celebrates the dramatic retelling of internal personal struggles. Opening, Friday, June 1, 7-9pm. Gallery hours Saturday, Sunday, June 2-17, 12-4pm.
