Joining Jane in concert are three of Vancouver’s finest musicians:
Bill Sample: Bill Sample has been a force in the West Coast music scene for many years. A recent highlight of Bill’s career includes playing on the 2008, Grammy-winning Ratatouille soundtrack. During his tenure as Music Director for David Foster, he worked with Brian Adams, Celine Dion, Peter Cetera and Kenny Loggins, to name a few. His recording credits include Leon Bibb, Eric Bibb, Michelle Wright, and Simple Plan. He has also performed with Ray Charles, Mel Torme, and Robben Ford. In 2003, Bill was inducted into the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame. In 2010, Bill received both a Lifetime Achievement Award and Most Influential Jazz Musician from the Royal Canadian Music Project, and his band Sample Stearns Band (from the 70’s) received the Most Influential Group Award.
David Sinclair: From 1992 to 1995, David toured with k.d. lang, and joined Sarah McLachlan's band from 1993 to 2003, touring extensively in North America, Europe, and Japan and appearing (with both artists) on shows including Jay Leno, David Letterman, Conan O’Brien, Arsenio Hall, Saturday Night Live, Larry Sanders, Good Morning America, Rosie O’Donnell, MTV Unplugged, VH1 Storytellers, The Grammy Awards Show, and the Juno Awards.
Rene Worst: Rene Worst, an internationally known and well-respected bass player, has established himself as one of the most influential and leading jazz voices in North America for several decades. Rene was voted Bassist of the Year by the BC CARAS Tribute to West Coast Music for the 4 years that the awards were given. Rene was co-leader of the now-legendary fusion band Skywalk with six CD’s to their credit. He has toured Canada with jazz legends Chet Baker, Gene Bertoncini, Herb Ellis, Freddie Hubbard and Joe Pass and on the international scene, has toured the former Soviet Union with Paul Horn. He is a virtuoso on both string and electric basses.
