Event Description

Set in 1860, colonial Victoria, this site-specified piece tells the real life story of John Butt, an openly gay man, who is acquitted of sodomy. The play tells the un-sung story of Victoria’s unwitting pioneer for gay rights on the very earth where the events originally took place.
