Event Description

. Friday, October 7th IMU presents S.K.A., KOWNTERPOINT, The UPSIDE & BONG CHOW @ The Fairview, 898 West Broadway . Doors 9pm / Show 9:30pm / $10 cover

S.K.A brings great live energy with 2 singers who double as a horn section on a crowd-pleasing blend of originals and covers. Focused on a classic ska/reggae vibe, their sound also incorporates elements of blues, jazz and rock. http://www.facebook.com/pages/SKA/306867296132941

KOWNTERPOINT - This unstoppable power trio aims to please just about anyone, blending genres including reggae, psychedelic, classic rock, blues, funk, jazz, punk, ska, rockabilly, surf, hip hop and a few others! Whether it be moshing to a raging punk song, grooving to a solid reggae/hip hop beat, skanking to some sweet ska sounds or stomping to some rockabilly, Kownterpoint always impresses with their spontaneous, no limits, music-loving approach. http://www.facebook.com/Kownterpoint

The UPSIDE - Playing songs about the battles of life and the triumphs that come from positivity, belief and love, The Upside is a passionate ska/reggae band from Vancouver. http://www.facebook.com/upsideska

BONG CHOW is a funky group of Vancouver-based reggae and fusion musicians playing Bob Marley, The Police, Sublime and of course Bong Chow originals! http://www.facebook.com/BongChowMusic
