MediaNet's Flux Media Art Gallery presents the ReFrame symposium on contemporary filmmaking, February 4 - 6, 2016.

Admission is by donation for all events
ReFrame explores the nature of filmmaking and its place in the contemporary art world. The symposium includes screenings, artist talks, a film installation, a live film performance and a panel discussion.
Schedule of events:
7pm, February 4 - Cinema Salon Presents a screening of The Arthur Lipsett Project: A Dot on the Histomap, by local filmmaker Eric Gaucher, as well as Lipsett’s 1961 experimental film Very Nice Very Nice.
7pm, February 5 - Reception for Alex MacKenzie’s film installation Convolution, with a live film performance by the artist.
Noon, February 6 - Panel discussion on the nature of contemporary film with Alex MacKenzie, Eric Gaucher, Michelle Jaques ( Chief Curator at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria) and Dr. Nina Belmonte (professor of Philosophy at the University of Victoria) moderated by filmmaker and MediaNet’s Executive Director Peter Sandmark.
