Robazzo@Night is a curated snapshot of what to look out for in Victoria's ever-growing arts scene. Featuring underground talents in music, art, writing, performance and interactivity, Robazzo creates unique, memorable experiences.
This month's installment, "RE: locate" explores the dimension of space, and our attachment to it. How well do you know your own city? Is art only as strong as its location; in a museum or gallery?
>>ASSIGNMENT: Release
It is a common condition of city life to begin to take one's surroundings for granted. The photographers behind "Assignment" reframe the mundane, calling our attention to the peculiarities of our location. Their photos are ubiquitous enough to be an major metropolis, but featuring landmarks such as Fan Tan Alley and the Johnson street bridge place us firmly here, in Victoria.
Assignment is a bi-annual photography magazine, consisting of the works of Jon Chow, Jackson Schenk, Daniel Tolsma, Ricardo Castillo, Shanice Bishop, and Paul Fajilan. Assignment contains the visual responses to certain photographic tasks by these local photographers.
