Event Description
Born in Bermuda, raised in Prince Edward County, Ontario and now living between Bern Switzerland and Wakefield, Canada, Lindsay Ferguson is a touring Canadian musician who plays with eclectic and captivating melodies.Taught as an opera singer in her teens (even placing Gold in the Rotary Music Festival) she would see that classical music was only an introduction into her musical sphere. Buying her first guitar in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada, Lindsay would take to Open Stages, catching her first break at the Legendary Fat Cat on George Street. Later, she would record her first album "Sound." in 2007 in Ottawa Ontario, with Producer Dave Draves. It was chosen as the best "Folk Roots" album of 2008 in Ottawa and would gain her attention across Canada by various radio and television stations. Awarded a Song-Writing grant by Canada Council for the Arts soon after, Lindsay would win enough money in Newcap Radios "Big Money Shot" contest, to record her second full length album "Monkeys Under Stars" produced by Dean Watson. She was voted "Best Singer & Song-writer" in Wakefield Quebec in 2012 and her song "Lose My Grip" was nominated for the Colleen Peterson Song-Writing Award, as well as placing her as a finalist for the New Song Music Contest, 2012. Fast forward through a multitude of stages, both dimly and brightly lit, hours of writing, singing, booking and carting gear, Lindsay is about to release a brand new record, and her third, "Chameleon." Produced by touring artist and musical genius, Mr Brock Zeman, at The Big Muddy in Lanark Ontario, this new album features everything from Mandolin, to violin, and from rapper to heavy bass. This time Lindsay was free in her approach to the sound of music and "Chameleon" is just that.
