Early Music Vancouver presents Vivaldi’s delightful Four Seasons suite on Friday, May 1 at 8pm at the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts. A perennial classical music favourite with audiences everywhere, its signature delicate melodies for violin vividly portray the four distinctive seasons of the year. The evening also includes additional works by Vivaldi and from fellow seventeenth century Baroque composers, Italy’s Pietro Locatelli and England’s Matthew Locke. Featuring the wonderful theatrics of the Portland Baroque Orchestra, whose artistic director and one of the world’s best baroque violinists, Monica Huggett, celebrates her 20th season with the orchestra with this Northwest tour.
