Event Description
For the 6th concert this season, the A Place to Listen Ensemble will present three works from Christian Wolff's "prose collection". In this influential collection, composed in the late-1960s/early-1970s, Wolff used only written language (sometimes only a few sentences) to communicate his musical ideas to the musicians. Each of the pieces in this collection invite the musicians into specific, yet open and porous, sonic explorations—into ways of being musically that are hinged, not upon technical proficiency/virtuosity, but deep and sensitive listening.
The program will include: Song, Stones, and Looking North.
Also on the program is Chris Reiche's fantastic new work "Inconsistency no.1" for a trio of musicians playing paper instruments!
