DESTINEAK can be summed up in one word: ENERGY. This duo packs a punch of unadulterated live sound and visual stimulation that rocks any crowd. The sounds are pop, electro and progressive house featuring virtuosic live vocals and drums. Vocals are performed by the enigmatic and exotic Christina Sing, a true diva with a 4 octave range, she is also an accomplished songwriter and instrumentalist. Bobby James manoeuvres his way around a hybrid acoustic/electronic drum kit, percussion, and DJ rig with the revel of a child and the energy of Tarzan in the jungle. A veteran drummer who has toured with the likes of Kid Rock, Metallica and Scorpions, this man is a master of rhythm. Self proclaimed multimedia lushes, Bobby and Christina also direct, produce and edit most their music videos, of which there are 8 so far. Constantly writing and producing, DESTINEAK has collaborated with: Paul Van Dyk, Stonebridge, DJ Antoine, Ian Carey, Lazy Rich, Jenson Vaughan, Antillas, Sunloverz, Erick Decks, and more.DESTINEAK’s first single ‘Just The Music’ earned them Virgin Radio’s Best of BC Artists in August 2010. Their second single ‘Calling Your Name’ was remixed by multi-platinum selling DJ Ian Carey, gaining them heavy rotation on radio stations across Canada (peaking at #32 on Canadian Top 40), and won them CHUM Radio Emerging Artists. ‘Calling Your Name’ peaked at #6 on the Itunes Electronic Charts, and landed DESTINEAK a licensing deal with Sony Music Canada who distributed the single throughout Canada and the US. Their next single ‘Shine’ was released in June of 2011. The single is co-produced by Brian Howes (Nickelback, Daughtry, Hedley). ‘Shine’ was remixed by Stonebridge and Sunloverz and a video was shot for it in Cabo San Lucas, which was partly sponsored by the Mexican tourism board. In 2012 the single ‘Falling Back’ was released on Decks Tracks (Germany), and a music video was shot for it starring world-renowned aerialist/contortionist Kristi Toguchi. DESTINEAK is currently featured on platinum selling DJ Antoine’s (Housewerks/Kontor) new album Sky is the Limit (2013) on the track ‘Paralyzed’.
From conception, DESTINEAK has been a LIVE VOCAL VISUAL DRUM SHOW. They are two time winners (2009 & 2010) of Best Live Performance Group at The Vancouver Clubvibes Awards. DESTINEAK’s high energy performances have earned them stages at Juno Fest, Canada Place, GM Place, Devonian Gardens, The Opera House in TO, many Vancouver Gay Pride main stages, The Commodore Ballroom, Flames Central Calgary, The Ford Centre, Vancouver Convention Centre, Fusion Festival, San Jose Centre for Performing Arts, The 2010 Olympic Opening Ceremonies @ Holland Park, CABOOM Festival in Cabo (Mexico), CTV’s Canada Day, and numerous club residencies and special events. In 2010, DESTINEAK released their debut record on Moshpit Productions called ‘Sirens’. The album inspired 6 music videos and features remixes from top producers Ian Carey (Ministry of Sound/Hed Kandi), Erick Decks (Decks Tracks) and Lazy Rich (#1 Electro Beatport Artist, Big Fish Recordings).
DESTINEAK is currently working on new singles and their second EP with Jenson Vaughan, Paul Van Dyk, and Antillas. When not in the studio, Bobby and Christina are constantly playing live; their music is fuelled by exchanging energy with the audience.
