Trumpet and flugelhorn virtuoso Gabriel Alegria is one of the most influential figures on the current jazz scene in Peru. His combination of passion and scholarship has resulted in a revolutionary blend of Afro-Peruvian music that forges a Latin link between the African-influenced music of coastal Peru and American jazz. Alegria and his band have won over a dozen awards for their four CDs and are touring in support of 2013’s Ciudad De Los Reyes.
