Handsome Distraction (Rock)
http://www.handsomedistraction.com/
Handsome Distraction, a four-piece rock band from Victoria (BC), has taken a steady approach toward breaking into the rock music scene since the formation of the band in 2009. Representing the next “IT” sound, with an authentic and energetic stage performance to coincide - This is a band that you can’t help but pay attention to, truly a handsome distraction.
Competitors:
The Split Seconds (Alt Rock/Folk):

The Split Seconds are a genre-blending, but ultimately alternative, rock band from Victoria, BC. Bringing together influences from all over the world, their music ranges from heavy rock riffs to ambient acoustic anthems.
Krunch Mustard (Funk/Metal/Rock):
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Krunch-Mustard/162947747067938
Krunch Mustard re-formed in fall of 2011, bringing forth a new wave of creative expression and a combined passion for rock. Put simply on their band-page wall, "If you like rock and roll and hot dogs, you will like us."
The Party on High Street (Blues/Funk/Rock)
http://www.thepartyonhighstreet.com/
Founded in Nelson, The Party on High Street is a trippy musical navigation through rockin’ blues grooves, jazzy feel-good improvisations and mid-song funk downs. They are continually conjuring up original psychedelic FUN-rock and refreshing “anything goes” music to treat the soul.
Cover is only $3, all proceeds going towards equipment costs and prize money for the bands.
