Special ED...
Special ED has been DJing Drum n’ Bass and Jungle since 1996, influenced heavily by the Ragga and Jump-Up styles of the time. Ed rapidly mastered the art of mixing records and was playing a crucial part in Victoria’s early Drum n’ Bass scene by 1997. By the end of the 90’s, through his involvement with Whitebird Records and pure dedication to his music – he had amassed one of the largest collections of wax, as well as one of the longest résumé’s of any DJ in Victoria.
Since 2000 Ed has resided (or played at least once) at every regular Drum n’ Bass function in Victoria, working with various production companies such as Whitebird Records, 420 Kru and Ground Level Productions. Special ED has played alongside some of the VIP Drum n’ Bass – Jungle DJ’s and producers to grace Victoria.
Now living in Vancouver Special ED has teamed up with Soda and Myster E MC to form the Van City Bass Crew as well as joining the Automatic Crew with Pacific, Auto, Dabbler, Soda, Angst, Effect and Myster E. Ed has held a residences at Shine, Cyber and most recently at Republic alongside Soda, Matty Pacific, Dabbler and Jay Auto.

The journey of drum & bass throughout the years has taken us from the 20+ year old roots of hardcore rave to the frenetic amen-smashing ragga jungle and jump-up delerium of the mid-90’s, all the way to the polished and sophisticated liquid funk sounds of the 21st century… ConditionRed (Whitebird, VIC / Lighta!, VAN) has been there every step of the way.
Since 1992 he has been spinning the cream of the jungle crop on vinyl and is dedicated to all the different vibes and BPM’s throughout the history of the genre. He has been rolling with the B.C. jungle scene since it’s humble beginnings in back rooms and renegade setups, and has warmed up the crowd for UK giants such as Remarc, Kenny Ken, and Nicky Blackmarket.

Musical since his childhood in South Africa, Morgan Tedder began DJing in 2002 and has been in the foreground of the Island drum n’ bass scene ever since.
His smooth mixing of soulful, jazzy liquid funk and sunshine dubbed-out dnb have moved dancefloors throughout BC and he has played alongside the likes of Calibre, LTJ Bukem, London Elektricity, Mutt, Benny Page, Marcus Visionary & T Power to name a few.
Tedder is the founder of Liquidfunk.ca, resident DJ at Whitebird Lounge, regular at VEMF (Victoria Electronic Music Festival), as well as a staple on the Liquid Soul Sound Stage at Soundwave.
