Event Description
A little about Silent Treatment:
During an August 2008 performance at the House of Blues Anaheim for KLSX 97.1 Free FM's the Frosty, Heidi and Frank show, co host Heidi said - "Not too many things can leave me speechless. Silent Treatment kept my mouth shut, all I wanted to do was listen. I love Silent Treatment!"
Earlier co-host Frosty noted about the song, Some Other Way - "the song was incredible!"
Representing a fresh face in this latest generation of young bands, SILENT TREATMENT serves up a tasty dose of old and new in a lively Rock format that can be considered in the family tree of the Foo Fighters, Buckcherry and Stone Temple Pilots.
SILENT TREATMENT (ST), a four-some with members all still in their early 20's has recently slithered out of the Las Vegas desert sun where they wrapped up recording a new three-song demo with Producer, Kevin Churko (Ozzy Osbourne, Shania Twain) showcasing the songs Fear, Some Other Way and Steal the Sun, released in June 2008. Fear is a franticly fast-paced anthem with a propulsive guitar riff that will leave listeners winded. While Some Other Way is a call of hope where the vocal melodies lift your spirit above the clouds of adversity. Steal the Sun lays down a massive tomahawk-chop groove that one can't help but move to. All three songs have become staples and fan favorites in SILENT TREATMENT'S live show arsenal.
SILENT TREATMENT plays a relentless schedule up and down the West Coast, splitting time between their ever-growing So-Cal and Nor-Cal fan bases as well as the Pacific NorthWest and SouthWest. Their high energy live show and soulful musicianship is earning them acclaim from Club Owners, Soundmen, Bartenders, Doormen and the always important new fans. So prepare yourself because, "something wicked this way comes."
A little about Sinister Black:
Formed in late 2005 Sinister Black was formed by Wayne Powell and Ron Pistell from the ashes of the now defunct Scarecrow Balcony.
Finding they had great writing chemistry they decided to find a bass player and start a new project. They hired Wayne's long time friend Remo J.G. for the job ,he fit the attitude and the imagery of the band perfectly and they started rapidly writing some hard intense music.
Metal influenced songs with a rough punky edge yet having the roots of classic rock.
They had a vision of forming a band with a real raw sound and attitude. The idea was to not care about being rock stars, not to stress out about business aspects of being in a band, not to give a shit what anyone thinks. The whole idea is to have fun, enjoy playing music and playing shows, enjoy releasing albums,it should be one big party. Not a stress fest, that's what day jobs and the rest of life is for.
Sinister Black hit the scene hard early in 2006 playing their first gig at an all ages show in New Westminster at the carpenters hall.It was a television filming for the local music show Friday Night Revolution. This quickly spread word about the unique sounding band and their sound.Around the same time the band discovered every underground bands claim to fame,...myspace ..
With a new myspace up and running the band gained freinds and fans at a rapid pace.
They were able to gain quick promotions interest and were offered tons of shows by some of the towns best promoters. Also they were able to become freinds with other bands on the local circuit and join forces with musicians of the same attitude and head space.
In mid 2006 SPM Music Biz Created the Vancouver Band Alliance which was a great boost to the Vancouver scene. Sinister Black played some great shows, made some great freinds and gained lots of fans and recognition through the alliance.
In late 2006 Sinister Black released their debut album: Taste The Flies A raw sounding representation of what the band sounds like and lives for,the album opening up with an actual telephone recording of wayne's downstairs neighbor complaining that the music was so loud it was shaking the videos off of his store shelves. It set the mood for the rest of the album an onslaught of hard raw metalpunk destruction.
A great album to play at a rowdy party!Or riding your Harley!Or drinkin' in the park! Recorded, engineered and produced by themselves and Wayne's recording company:Brain Method Productions.
2007 continued to be a rock and roll circus for the band doing gig after gig. They got a great live video of their cd release party put on regular rotation on tv for Friday Night Revolution.
They were also on the Vancouver Band Alliance T.V show:A New Rock Reality. They also made it on to the renowned annual rock festival: Festival Of Guns.
Now in 2008 the band is preparing to release it's second album titled On The Attack. They are expecting even more wild times to come. If you read all this you must be a true fan. Stay tuned.
