Event Description
The Vancouver Chamber Choir will visit two of choral music’s prime poetic sources - Shakespeare and the Bible - as it opens its 38th season of great music-making. There are psalm settings by Mendelssohn, Britten, Raminsh and Knut Nystedt. Then words of the Bard of Avon in Vaughan Williams’ Shakespeare Songs and Bengt Hallberg’s jazz-influenced Concerto for Piano and Chorus. Organist Bryn Nixon and pianist Linda Lee Thomas join Jon Washburn and the Choir.
