Black Lips have a reputation as one of the wildest acts on the East Coast. We’re not saying they’ve been banned from some clubs but, well, you know… some bar managers just don’t care for the antics of the young Atlanteans, whose shows might include anything from nudity to fist fights (usually between band members), all in the name of good, grimy rock ’n’ roll fun.
All of this is in service to Black Lips’ early garage rock and ’60s psychedelia, updated with a healthy dose of attitude. The indie group has been described as resembling “the Velvet Underground or the Yardbirds if each band had pursued a more punk sound.” Its third album, Let it Bloom, is also Black Lips’ most accomplished, although fans can rest assured the disc doesn’t forsake the raw beginnings that have made the band the toast of the indie rock press. As Alternative Press says, “This is punk on the front porch—damaged rock for damaged people.” And they’re coming out west to prove it.
For physical events that happen at a specific time. For example a concert, or dance performance. If there are multiple shows, you can still duplicate your event to cover them all.
