About

Rebel Heart

Label: CD baby
since circa 2012
Rebel Heart (RH2) is a modern rock band from Vancouver Island delivering a powerful fusion of grit, musicianship, and narrative-driven songwriting. Their sound blends the raw authenticity of Americana and roots rock with the punch and precision of contemporary hard rock, creating a style that resonates across diverse audiences and stages.
Formed in the Comox Valley, Rebel Heart quickly drew the attention of major industry veterans. Their debut EP, Yuk Fu, was produced by acclaimed vocalist and producer Paul Laine (Poison, Scorpions, Danger Danger), whose involvement helped shape the band’s early sonic identity. The EP’s breakout single, “Self Made Man,” earned international radio rotation across the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia, establishing Rebel Heart as a rising voice with a distinctive sound and a message rooted in working class truth.
The band’s studio work is engineered by Ron Obvious, a veteran of Vancouver’s legendary Little Mountain Sound Studios with credits alongside Bob Rock, Loverboy, Bryan Adams, Colin James, and Spirit of the West. His experience brings a polished, radio ready edge to Rebel Heart’s recordings while preserving the grit and emotional weight that define their writing.
Their latest release, “I Ain’t Dead Yet,” captures the band at full strength—anthemic, defiant, and built for large stages. The track showcases Rebel Heart’s ability to merge memorable hooks with lyrical depth, appealing to both rock traditionalists and modern audiences.
