Ha ha ha ........ wow over 50 years ago ....... this was what was the regular style of entertainment at the Tango back then ....... till a 17 year old hippy convinced Ian D. to rent to him the venue to do a hippie psychodelia style concert/dance .....it was successful and because there was no trouble or damages and because we clean the place up after the show, I was allowed to rent the Tango on a regular basis and the old style dinner dances slowly faded away as rock music came to dominate the venue's bookings, funny to look back and remember that scared kid putting all his money on the line and doing something that had never been done before and I definitely was too naïve to know how it would evolve into a whole new era of entertainment, that launched bands and venues for the next 3 decades on the island !!! You had to be there at that time to understand the ending of the crew cut generation and the new dominance of the original hippie generation and the conflicts with society that we battle through taking on the establishment, ignoring the cannabis laws ( from there to legally smoking a joint with my son ....... unthinkable back then) and fighting the dirty hippie narrative, as a passenger of the movement back then I can tell you that the Tango's impact on my generation's local history is under reported and under appreciated and the combination of the venue and the new music was a major local incubator for this time of change !!! For physical events that happen at a specific time. For example a concert, or dance performance. If there are multiple shows, you can still duplicate your event to cover them all.
